Tupi 0.1 revision git06

Hello there!
Right now I'm focusing efforts on the Tweening architecture. Many small bugs have been fixed in this release, but the most of the changes are happening under the surface, so maybe you won't notice them.
Currently, the only plug-in available of the Tweening kind is the "Position Tween", but the basic template for the others (Rotation, Scaling, Opacity, etc) is ready, so I hope to start adding new options every week.

Tupi Manual: Calling out for English translation!

Hi! After a long time, the English version of our basic manual is still under construction and honestly I think is time to make it part of the software.
For that reason, I am looking for people wishing to help us making a revision of the current document. The only requirement: English as first language/mother tongue.

This is our first version of the manual, but it needs a lot of corrections:

Tupi invited to Campus Party Colombia

Hello guys! I want to share with you great news. Tupi has been invited to Campus Party Colombia this year. I'll be giving a talk about this project at last week of June.

It's good to know that Tupi is achieving some recognition among the Free Software community and its events. Hard work keeps!

More info (Only in Spanish), here:

Tupi now is a Qt Showcase!

This morning I got a mail from the Qt Ambassador Program, telling me that Tupi now is part of it!
For me, it's a great news because it means we are doing things well and I say *we* because there are many people around the world helping me with little but important issues related to bugs hunting, documentation, translations, etc. By the way, thank you guys! :P

The hard work keeps up!

Report about Tupi Installers

Hi! The last days I had been working on some Tupi installers to make users life easier. I want to share with you my achievements and failures on this mission:

  • Ubuntu: Although we already have a .deb package, currently I'm working on the PPA of Tupi. In this way, the latest release will be available just using "apt-get".
  • Fedora: Finally, I could build the RPM file and now is available from the Downloads section.

Tupi on Fedora and OpenSuse

Hello! This week I decided to expend some time finding the way to get running Tupi from Fedora and OpenSuse Linux distros.
The funny thing is this: once you figure out how to do it, the process is quite simple and fast... of course, after hours of trying the wrong ways ;)
Well, the truth is out! If you are a Fedora or OpenSuse user and want to try Tupi, now the road is quite simpler!

PS: I'll be working around the RPM installers.

Tupi 0.1 revision git05

Hi! It's time for a new release (git05). This version is just a little taste of the new Motion Tween plug-in interface.

Although you already can make some nice simple examples, the list of bugs to fix is large. Besides, this is just an implementation of the Translation feature. Among other options, Rotation and Scaling are still missing, for now!

News about the Tweening plug-in

Hello there!

I just want to tell you that I have been working hard on the Tweening plug-in of Tupi the last two weeks. It's not ready yet because I had to rewrite a lot of code to make it works in the way I want. That's the reason this week I didn't make a release.

At the beginning I was working on a very basic design of the plug-in, but after thinking about all the possible options for this feature, I had decided to extend the initial design and make it more interesting.

By the way, I hope to make a new release the next week. Keep in touch! :)

Port to Windows: Some pics about the adventure

Hello people!

This weekend I was working a lot in the hard process of porting the Tupi's source code to Windows and I think I made a little progress on it.
A real/usable binary is still far away from the current version because yet there are a lot of tiny tricky issues I have to deal with.

Anyway, I want to share with you the whole process. So I had created a little album with some screenshots about it:

I hope to add more (successful) pics soon!

Port to Windows and the subtle git04

Hello there!

This week I had been a little busy working on the port of Tupi for Windows platforms. And The truth is it has been more difficult that I thought in despite of the fact that Qt is multi-platform.
Tip: If you someday try to port some Qt code to Windows from Linux, some little details around the .pro files can make your day a real nightmare if you don't know the tricks. Well, I think I'm learning the tricks... but it's a long way to go yet ;)

Besides, I made a quiet release of Tupi (git04). No big deal really, just some annoying bugs fixes.
